Sweet Ride

I sat in one of these today. The guy we buy diesel engine powered electric generators to us drove his new toy down from Sioux Falls. This thing is awesome, and he is driving it all over. He even let a couple of guys drive it. Nothing like this thing screaming down the highway next to work at 140! What a disgusting display of wealth...how can I get one.

Laramie Enduro: Bike shop brawl?

So, eveyone's halfway through training, right? Cause it's a month away already.

Me, Brian, Chad, Dave, Wierwien, and who else is planning on this?

Might there be any interest in entering the Bike Shop Brawl as a Redstone Barn/Red Barn Stone/Honker Hangar team? It could include up to seven people, and registration for the group is only $25 more for the group over registering individually (which split 5 ways is nothing).

Thoughts? Feelings? Repressed desires?

Dale's Pale Ale goes big time.

You'll have to register for the article, but here's the scoop: Dale's gets ***1/2 stars from the New York Times. Best rating of 24 Pale Ales.

Go Dale!

Hey guys Nate's B-party is the other way!

24 hours of Rapalje (recap)

driving home...mission accomplished.

Sunday, June 26

We've been camping twice this year with no bottle opener. See, Zana will drink a beer every once in a while, but, wine is good. So, we're camping, no bottle opener, and a nice bottle of wine. After digging through my camp stash for a while, I came up with a plan. An okay plan, that turned out brilliant. A tent stake, hammered into a cork, will first imbed itself in the cork, and then push itself and the cork into the bottle (I don't think the boy scouts endorse using the back of a hatchet for a hammer, but what the hell!). Bonus is, the stake, still stuck in the cork, can be either pulled up to seal the bottle, or pushed down to allow the free flow of wine (which it did, I might say). Anyway, kids, don't try this one at home, only when sleeping in the woods! Posted by Hello

a few of you may remember john from day that he joined us when we rode around lake como. Welp, he's off living like a rockstar as a mtb tourguide in Chamonix France. If you have sometime to kill check out his photos at this LINK

anyone else tired ?

aaahhhh man i am one tired pup today.... last night we got a small group together for a night ride at the Coyote. About 8 of us in all.....And with summer solstice approaching it wasn't till damn near 10pm till we got on the trail. I figured a shake down ride befoe the 24 hour race at Rapalje was in order so we dragged our sorry azzes around on the trail for 2 hand a half hours...the full moon came out around mid-night and it was still dark as shit. Quiet though... at least until my rear tire struck a rock pretty damn solidly and a loud KA-BAM ----wwhhhiiiisssssh . And what a friggin mess as i was running slimed up tubes and the sidewall of the tire also ripped...jesus h

new tube... one of dim fancy park tire boots and a couple of kleenix's to wipe up the gooo and a tire pump that made my arm cramp and i was ready to roll.

other than that small incident the ride went super smooth...everyone's lights hung in, and i think most of us are ready to suffer this coming weekend.

appearently just getting home was just the beggining of my suffering....because when i strolled in the door at 12:45...tracy kicked me back out of it with a reminder that i PROMISED to have her bosses super duper 1985 Panasonic mtb repaired by morn (solid axle to QR axle upgrade :)), so i dragged myself out to the shop crank on NPR which was playing a solid mix of 70's tunes....janis jop having fits, morrison sounded stoned. 45 minutes later i was happily headed back to bed, bike done ! cept one thing, between the 2 hr ride, greasy fingers, and 70's acid rock I was too amped up to sleep. Last time i checked the clock it was 3...and the next damn thing i know is i awake to my little girl, madeline batting me in the head with one of her toys...."WAKE UP DADDY !"

aahhhhh man can't it wait ?

rode with buchanan and Mike today...we rode up the old Nez Perce pass today, 14 miles of steep graded dirt road that eventually took us up to the CD Trail...super narrow trail that disappeared in sections. Lots of devastation from the fires of 2000....took of on the first drainage that we came across (Reimel Creek), and decended 7 miles of rocky, lush, and primitive trail. Mike gave the two thumbs up of approval.

I think I took a wrong turn somewhere?

Haven't posted any words for a while so here we go!

I went to a sorry ass graduation party on Saturday. I don't mean that it was sorry in the way that I didn't have a good time. I can ussally make the the best of a lame party situation. I mean it was sorry because the party was RSVP so the couple throwing it could somewhat plan for food and drink. They invited 80 peps and received RSVP from enough people to buy enough to feed and intoxicate that number of people. Well 15 people showed up that includes the couple throwing the party and their 4 kids. It was purdy sad! I would hear them make comments like "Everyone wants to be fashionably late." Then about an hour later "Just wait till after dark people will start showing up."

It was wearing on me hearing these comments.

B: "Brandy What are you gonna do with all of the tequlia lime and salt you have sitting out upstairs?"

Brandy: "I don't know? Nobody's showing up."

B: "WELL SHIT LETS TAKE CARE OF IT!"

I brought the supplies down to the patio and 3-4 shots later 4 of the 7 adults left at the party were singing kareoke to the other three. If you don't know Melissa is a microphone hog. It was a good show. I like when Melissa sings! Here is where the wrong turn was taken. Apparently before during or after taking one of the shots Brandy asked Melissa if the two of us would like to attend a show with them on Tuesday night. The had extra tickets and wanted us to go! Well Melissa agreed and didn't tell me until the next day. Next day things are kinda foggy. The fog blows over when she tells me i will be going with them to the VH1 The Rock Never Stops Tour. Firehouse, RATT, and Cinderella!?

B: "What! I can't go i gotta wash my hair!"

Melissa: "Well i already told them we would go. They are buying the tickets."

None of my excuses were working ok i guess if anything it'll be funny.

The night of the show we get downtown and have dinner grab a couple cold ones and head down to the pershing. We got there late and Firehouse was already playing. I am following steve he bought the tickets and he's heading right up to the front? Second row center stage! Alright I would be super excited if this were a B Boys concert. This was some shit that i didn't want to be at and there here i am front and center? This is gonna take a lotta beer gonna have to keep the cold ones coming! Firehouse was like 80's KFRX Sunday night dedications kinda rock. It scared me that a couple songs sounded familar. RATT was like Friday nights at Holiday skate North you know like back in '84. Cinderella was like FUCKING horrible. I ended a relationship in Highschool because this chic tried to play a cinderella tape in my Mustang! I mean WTF did she think she was doing?! That shit is like being posioned through your ears! When the the pale bad musicans that were standing in front of cool pyrotechnics(Cinderella) we done we rode our bikes home. I felt like i had done something bad. Something not just a shower would fix!

SO in the spirit of making the best of things how about a RATT Rock Block!

BLOGLADITES ARE YOU READDDY TOOOOOOOOO ROOOOOOCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!

Monday, June 13

Sunday was the wet day for me. Rode a lap at Walker Ranch between rain storms, and afterwards did a little scouting in the Jeep. The rocks were pretty slick, and just past this point it got real narrow. The road was super washed out, the Jeep was starting to claw at the dirt a little, and the road was getting super narrow. Needless to say, the wife was a little nervous and wanted to turn around. Ok, but take some pics! Well, here I am rolling around in the Jeep, and as she's about to take a picture she freaks out. I stop, ask what's up, and she says that one of the wheels was off the ground. Why didn't you take a picture, I asked? Posted by Hello

I can't believe it!

Have you guys seen THIS?

If you need to brush up on your history there is THIS!

Kinda makes me want to get mine back. I know where it is. It's safe!

Video from last weekend!

Here is a vid of Debaser taking the smooth line !

I had good luck running the video smoothly by right clicking on the blue text and choosing "save target as" from the little menu that pops up save it to your drive and then run the short video clip from your hard drive. That way it's not so choppy.

Enjoy!

arrived safely !
